Same crew, new name: Civilized is now Crewgood

Civilized is now Crewgood. Same team, same partners, and a name that says what we're for: helping people find their crew and do some good.

New Orleans, October 20, 2026

9:58 p.m.

Maybe you know this night.

Registration opens tomorrow. Somewhere in your city, a parent is standing at the kitchen counter with one question: does swim start before or after school lets out?

She checks your website. She checks the flyer on the fridge. She checks the group chat, where somebody's cousin is pretty sure it's Tuesdays. Then she does what everyone does. She emails your general inbox, and she hopes.

The answer was there the whole time. It's on a program page, in last spring's newsletter, in a post from August. It just wasn't anywhere she could find it at 9:58 p.m.

Tomorrow morning, someone on your team will answer that email. Then the next one, which asks the same thing. By lunch, they'll have answered it forty times. By the end of the week, hundreds. Every one of those answers is time that didn't go to the kids, the families and the neighbors they signed up to serve.

If that's your team, you're not behind. You're doing the work of a crew twice your size, with an inbox and a shared Google Doc. The people doing the most good deserve better tools than that.

We kept hearing the same thing

We've spent the last few years sitting with the people who keep communities running. Executive directors. Program leads. The front desk. The volunteer coordinator who also runs the newsletter, the Instagram and, somehow, the snack table.

Almost every conversation landed in the same place: not enough people, too many questions.

And we noticed something else. Nobody we met was doing good alone. There was always a crew. Staff who cover for each other. Partners who send families back and forth. Neighbors who show up when the flyer goes out. The good was always a group project.

So we named ourselves after it.

Say hello to Crewgood

So, starting today, Civilized is Crewgood.

Same team. Same partners. Same people picking up when you call. Just a name that finally sounds like the people we build for.

Say it out loud. Crewgood. It's a name, and it's a pretty good to-do list.

And "good" is bigger than volunteering. It's getting your kid into the right after-school program. It's finding something fun to do this weekend. It's a clear answer to a local question, and a way to pitch in when you can. Crewgood is for all of it.

Find your crew. Do some good.

What we believe

Information about your community should be easy, accurate and free. Nobody should need three PDFs and a group chat to find out when swim starts. That's why the core of Crewgood Studio is free, with no per-seat pricing.

The people doing good should shape the tools they use. Every feature starts with something we heard from the people fielding the calls. Then we set it up with you, because the hardest part is never the code. It's finding the hour.

Good is a group project. When one organization gets stronger, the whole community does. We're building public infrastructure for cooperation, so the people doing good can lift each other up instead of competing for the same attention.

Back to 9:58 p.m.

Here's how that same night goes with Crewgood Studio.

The parent asks her question on your website. The Answers Integration answers right there, from the program page your team already wrote: Tuesdays and Thursdays, right after school, and here's the sign-up link. She's registered before 10.

In the morning, nobody on your team has to answer it forty times. And when they open Performance reporting, they can see what families asked overnight, and the one thing nobody could find. Maybe it's the scholarship form. They add it before lunch, and the next parent finds it on the first try.

That's the whole idea. Less admin, more mission.

It's a light lift

  1. Bring in what you already publish. In the Content manager, your team picks the sources: your website, program pages, newsletters, anything you approve. You can always see where an answer came from.
  2. Add Crewgood to your site. One line of code. Nothing replaced, nothing migrated. We do it with you on a call.
  3. Your community gets answers. The moment they ask, any time of day. And your team sees what they asked, and what's missing.

What teams already on the crew are seeing

The 18th Ward. For seven years, staff answered families by copy-pasting from a shared Google Doc. Now families get answers on the website first, and that staff time goes to kids, in schools and swimming pools. When fall registration opened, every seat filled within an hour, and they're using what families asked to make the case for more funding.

New Orleans Career Center. Live in about five minutes, on a Zoom call. Then the chat kept surfacing one question: when can I apply? Those dates had only gone to current students. Now they're public.

Louisiana SPCA. General-info calls dropped, and the phones now center on the community clinic. The questions also turned up needs nobody had planned for. Our favorite so far: where to surrender a duck. They didn't know people needed to ask. Now they know, and they have an answer.

Where the crew is headed

Answers are where we started, not where we stop. Over time, Studio will help teams plan, too, so what your community asks shapes what you do next. Every new piece gets built the same way: with the people who'll use it.

And for everyone else, there's the Crewgood social app, coming soon. One app with all the good stuff happening nearby: programs for your kids, fun things to do with friends and family, help from a local nonprofit when you need it, and ways to pitch in when you can. No trolls. No fights in the comments. Just what's happening, and how to be part of it.

A word from Matt

"We named the company for the people we build for. Every week we meet program directors, front-desk staff and volunteers holding their communities together with not enough time and too many questions. Crewgood is how we show up for them. We take on the admin so they can get back to the people they serve, while also helping the rest of the community crew up and find something good to do." — Matt Wisdom, CEO and Founder, Crewgood

Your next registration night can go differently

Every night without it, someone in your community is searching for you and finding nothing, or the wrong answer somewhere else. It doesn't have to stay that way, and it doesn't take a new website or a bigger team.

Crewgood Studio is free to start, and we'll set it up with you. Get started free or see how it works.

Come find your crew.
